Santa Clara University Engineering:
Summer Engineering Seminar is a 5-day residence program on campus at SCU in July.
The program is designed to acquaint students with the engineering profession, the academic expectations of college, and the nature of life at a university.
–Lecture and interactive labs taught by SCU faculty
–Includes afternoon activities and evening projects The 2020 SES program will be offered three times over the course of the summer. Students can apply to attend one of the following session options:
Session One: July 12-16
Session Two: July 19-23
Session Three: July 26-30
Application due: March 18, 2020. The application is available here.
To be considered for this program, applicants must submit the following application materials:
- A completed online application, available herewww.scu.edu/engineering/beyond-the-classroom/outreach/summer-engineering-seminar-ses/
- A maximum 500 word essay submitted on the online application addressing the following: Why are you an ideal candidate for the SES program? How do you think you could benefit from the program? Questions to consider in your response may include:
-What are you passionate about?
-What drives your curiosity for engineering?
-What kind of impact do you hope to have on society?
- The instructor recommendation form is available here., completed by a high school math, science, computing or technology teacher.
